A veterinary clinic is three businesses wearing one coat. It is an appointment business, where an empty consultation slot is revenue that cannot be recovered. It is a relationship business, where the money is not in the first vaccination but in the eight years of check-ups, dentals and repeat prescriptions that follow it. And it is a retail and stock business, holding medicines, prescription diets, flea treatments and surgical consumables that expire, run out, or quietly disappear. Grooming salons, boarding kennels and mobile pet services run the same three businesses at a smaller scale.

Most practices end up running those three on three different systems — a wall calendar or booking app, a spreadsheet of clients, and a stock list someone updates when they remember. The seams between them are where the money leaks: the dental recall nobody sent, the no-show nobody backfilled, the wormer that ran out mid-consult. What follows is what Bitrix24 actually offers here, taken from its own product pages and helpdesk, including the parts it does not cover.

A record for the animal, not just the owner

This is the structural problem with using a generic CRM in veterinary work: the client is the owner, but the patient is the animal, and one owner can bring three cats and a dog with entirely separate histories. Bitrix24 addresses this directly. Its helpdesk uses a veterinary clinic as its worked example of why the standard CRM items are not always enough, noting that such a clinic may need a database of animals — and that this is what Smart Process Automation exists for.

Smart Process Automation lets you create custom CRM items with their own forms and custom fields, their own pipelines and kanban stages, their own access permissions, and connections to tasks and calendars. In practice that means a Patient record carrying species, breed, date of birth, weight, microchip number, allergies and vaccination dates, linked to the owner contact, with stages that reflect a real clinical journey rather than a sales funnel. Access permissions are set per process, so records can be granted only to specific employees — front desk staff do not need the same view as the veterinary team.

Online self-booking, with a separate schedule per vet and per service

Bitrix24 Booking lets you configure a booking form and place it on your website or social media, so clients choose a service, a specialist and a time slot themselves — no phone tag, no manual entry. The part that matters for a clinic is granularity: Bitrix24 states that each team member or service has its own schedule, working hours and visit duration. A fifteen-minute vaccination, a forty-minute consultation and a half-day surgical slot are genuinely different resources, and the system is built to prevent double bookings across them.

Two smaller booking features are worth naming because they solve specific veterinary irritations. The booking form can carry custom fields, so an owner describes the symptom before arriving rather than at the desk. And payment systems can be connected to the form, so an appointment is only confirmed once it has been paid for — the standard defence against repeat no-shows on high-value slots. Bitrix24 lists pet grooming salons, medical and dental practices among the business types Booking is designed to fit.

Reminders, confirmations and a waiting list that refills the gap

Missed appointments are the clearest cost in an appointment business, and Bitrix24 treats them as an automation problem. Reminders are sent automatically ahead of the appointment, with custom message text and configurable timing, and can go out over WhatsApp and SMS as well as email — which matters in the Gulf, where WhatsApp is where clients actually reply. Bitrix24 notes that for a small clinic this alone can meaningfully improve daily revenue.

Cancellations get the same treatment. When all slots are taken, a client can be added to a waiting list; when someone cancels, the newly free time can be offered immediately to whoever is waiting. Reschedules, confirmations and cancellations are all visible to the team without anyone chasing messages or notes — the gap gets refilled while it is still today.

Every visit becomes a deal, so the second visit becomes measurable

Every appointment in Bitrix24 is turned into a deal tied to the respective contact in CRM, which means confirmations, reminders, reschedules and cancellations are logged automatically rather than remembered. The result is an appointment history attached to the client record, and Bitrix24 uses precisely the clinical version of this example: a dental clinic can see a patient visit history at a glance and book the next check-up from it.

For a veterinary practice this is the difference between reactive and proactive care. Client details sit in CRM, the full appointment history sits with them, rebooking returning clients is designed to be quick, and the whole thing connects to marketing tools — so a booster due, an annual dental, or a switch to a senior-pet plan becomes a segment you can act on rather than a note someone meant to make. Follow-up goes out through the Contact Center over whichever channel the client uses: email, SMS, social media or messengers.

Medicines, diets and retail stock, counted in the same system

Bitrix24 includes full inventory management across multiple warehouses, with stock receipts, sales orders, write-offs, transfers and audits, and every catalogue item traceable from supplier to customer with real-time status. For a multi-site practice or a clinic with a separate storeroom and consult-room stock, multiple warehouses is the feature that makes the count honest. When an item is sold and the deal closes, the stock balance updates automatically, and inventory reports cover stock balance, gross profit and gross margin.

The product catalogue sits alongside it, and Bitrix24 is explicit that it holds a separate entity for services as well as products — so a consultation, a dental scale and a bag of prescription diet coexist in one price list. Custom fields let you add what your business actually tracks, and access permissions decide per employee who may create products, apply discounts or edit stock receipts and prices.

Invoices, payment links and consent forms signed from a phone

Invoices are created straight from a deal, using templates with custom fields, and can be sent automatically by rules and triggers when a deal reaches a chosen stage. Payments work by generating a payment link from a deal and sending it to the client by email, SMS or messenger; the client picks a method, the practice gets confirmation, the client gets proof of payment, and staff can check payment status in real time. For a clinic settling a bill while the owner is still holding a nervous animal, a link beats a card machine queue.

Consent forms, estimates for surgery and boarding agreements are the paperwork layer, and Bitrix24 Sign handles them: a document link goes out by email, SMS or WhatsApp, and the signer does not need a Bitrix24 account. Documents can be templated and autofilled from the related deal, the process can be automated so you can see exactly where a signature is stuck, and Bitrix24 describes Sign as UETA and ESIGN-compliant.

What it costs

Bitrix24 is free to start and the basic CRM features cost nothing, but Booking — the tool most of this article rests on — is available starting from the Basic plan rather than the free tier. Bitrix24 also prices per account rather than per user, which is why a practice with a large part-time and locum roster tends to model very differently here than on per-seat veterinary software. Plan availability changes, so check the current Bitrix24 pricing page before budgeting, and confirm which plan carries Smart Process Automation for your region.

The honest limits

Bitrix24 is not a veterinary practice management system, and it is worth being blunt about that. Its own pages describe booking, CRM, inventory, invoicing and e-signature; they do not describe clinical charting, drug-interaction checking, dosage calculation by weight, in-house laboratory or imaging integration, or species-specific medical records out of the box. The animal record described above is something you design with Smart Process Automation, not something you switch on.

Practices that need deep clinical tooling will usually keep a dedicated system for the medical record and use Bitrix24 for everything wrapped around it — booking, client communication, recalls, stock, billing and the business side of the practice. That is a legitimate and common architecture, but it is a decision to make deliberately at the start, not a surprise to discover in month three. Regulatory logging for controlled substances is likewise a compliance question for your jurisdiction, not a feature claim we will make on Bitrix24 behalf.

Where a partner comes in

The gap between the feature list above and a clinic that runs on it is configuration. Someone has to decide what a Patient record holds and how it relates to the owner, how many bookable resources exist and what each one takes, which recalls fire at which intervals, who can see which records, and where the clinical system ends and Bitrix24 begins. Those decisions are specific to how your practice works, and they are much cheaper to get right before the data goes in.
